For Booksellers

Ordering

Most books we publish are available through Ingram and Baker & Taylor in North America, as well as through other wholesalers/distributors in the United Kingdom and Europe. And we know that most booksellers are eager to order through these companies to keep their bookkeeping simpler.

However, you may order directly from Wolfmont Press or Honey Locust Press and thereby obtain a better discount than you receive by ordering through Ingram or Baker & Taylor. We know that they make their money by taking a cut off the top, and that is fine. But if you wish to order directly from us, your discount will be substantially larger than the one you get by ordering our books directly through either wholesaler. Contact us for details.

Buying directly from us is also the only way to get returnability on most books we publish.

Our Return Policies

"Returning books" is a perennial point of contention between booksellers and publishers.  While we understand the need for booksellers to survive, certainly it is not at the sacrifice of the publisher.  Nor do we believe that the bookseller should bear the entire burden.  Thus, we offer the following return policy terms to independent booksellers, or individual chain bookstores, should they choose to order directly from us.* Just as the publisher cannot return books that are overruns to the printer for credit, and must take reasonable caution to anticipate market demand, we believe the bookseller can and should do the same thing.

Our return terms are:

check The book order must be prepaid.
check The books may not be returned after 150 days from date of receipt.
check No more than 50% of the last ordered quantity of any title may be returned.
check Shipping for any returned books is paid by the bookseller (media rate is fine).
check Books returned must be in good, resalable condition (not shopworn, not wrinkled, etc.)  That also means UNSIGNED.  If a book is signed or marked in any way, the bookseller will not receive credit for that book.
check Books are returned for credit, not cash refund.  The credit will be issued within thirty days for any books that are returned in good, resalable condition.
check Book orders/returns for specific signing engagements may be negotiated individually.

Is this policy perfect?  Of course not.  But we feel it is the best compromise we can make between accepting all returns universally and accepting no returns at all.

If you are interested in ordering returnable books directly from us, please print and complete this form, and fax it to us at (702) 543-8386, to establish your Returnable Books account.

* Although most of our books are offered for distribution through national distribution and wholesaler chains (Ingram, Baker & Taylor), we do not offer across-the-board returns on books ordered through them or any other national distributor at this time. This is because we have no control over quantity, condition of books returned or timeframe when returned when we offer returns through those channels.
