Things to think about...
if you are considering having a video teaser made for your book!
Almost any sort of book, fiction or non-fiction, can be promoted by a properly done video teaser. But just as you need to think about what you are going to fix for dinner before you begin to cook, you need to think about some of the details of your promotional video teaser in advance of starting that process.
Before investing time and money in a video teaser for your book, ask yourself these questions:
- Where will I put the video? On my website? YouTube? MySpace? FaceBook? Or...where?
- What do I want to emphasize about my book? What are the "big points" I want to drive home forcefully and implant in people's minds?
- How much information do I want to put into this video? (According to research, the most effective book video teasers run between 75 and 120 seconds in length.)
- What is particularly "visual" about my book?
- Is there any sort of video or audio content that I particularly want or do NOT want in my video teaser?
- How much am I willing to spend? (For example, a minimal 60-second teaser using stock photos and music already in our library should run between $475 and $500. That is the baseline.)
If you have a good handle on the answers to at least some of these questions, I invite you to contact us about your project, with your specifics. We'd love to hear from you!
